Wellbeing
At our school, student wellbeing and learning are deeply connected. We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive environment where every student feels supported and empowered to succeed. Whether your child needs assistance with their mental, emotional, social, or physical wellbeing, we are dedicated to helping them thrive both at school and beyond.
How we support student wellbeing
We understand that some students require extra support to build confidence and achieve their best at school. We work closely with families to develop personalised support plans and adjustments that meet each child’s unique needs.
Additional learning support may include:
- Collaboration between teachers, support staff, families, and students (when appropriate)
- Specialist assistance for students learning English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D)
- Tailored programs for high potential and gifted students to address their advanced learning needs
- Small group tutoring focused on targeted literacy and numeracy support
- Regular check-ins to review and update support plans
Classroom adjustments may involve:
- Creating accessible learning environments
- Using assistive technology
- Providing specialised instructional resources
- Offering extra guidance, simplified content, or alternative lesson focuses
Assessment adjustments could include:
- Additional time to complete tasks
- Simplified language in instructions
- Scheduled breaks during assessments
- Alternative ways to demonstrate learning, such as oral presentations instead of written work
We identify when a student may need support through:
- Teachers observing changes in learning or behaviour
- Reviewing assessment results and academic progress
- Parents or carers expressing concerns or requesting assistance
All adjustments are planned in partnership with parents and carers, regularly reviewed, and updated as needed.
